Originated as the A3J-1, the Vigilante first entered service in 1961, replacing the A-3 Sky warrior in the heavy attack role. During the implementation of the Tri-Services Designation plan, the Vigilante was redesignated A-5. The reconnaissance version, originally AJ3-3P, became the RA-5C. This RA-5C Vigilante USN model airplane is made from only the finest grade of mahogany, worked to a perfect scale copy of the real aircraft. Covered in a detailed, complete paint scheme, with distinct markings. Mounted on a chrome support brace and a mahogany wooden-base. Perfect masterpiece display!
